January update – season suspended
Since our last member communication on 18th December the situation in Scotland with the Covid-19 pandemic has changed quite significantly. You will all be aware that the Scottish Government has introduced a temporary lockdown throughout mainland Scotland from the 5th January as a result of increased COVID cases, particularly of the new variant. This led to the Boards of Murrayfield Curling Limited (MCL) and Edinburgh Curling Club (ECC) meeting to consider the implications of the current situation.
We have made the inevitable but sad decision to suspend curling at Murrayfield for the rest of the 20/21 season.
Both Boards wish to acknowledge and record their appreciation for the support clubs and individual members have given to date. We will continue to communicate with you as often as is necessary as we navigate our way through the coming months towards the beginning of next season. By that time, we expect to be back enjoying the sport that binds us together.
Got something to say?
