Maxwell & Morton Trophies
The Maxwell and Morton Trophies are annual Scottish Curling competitions for male & female teams representing their local ice rink. The teams for each participating ice rink play in regional qualifying leagues, throughout the season. After these are complete, the top teams in each Section qualify for the knockout stages to determine the national champions. All participating curlers must have membership of Scottish Curling.
Maxwell Trophy
For each of the following regional qualifiers, we require 3 teams (12 players) of Edinburgh Curling Club’s male members to represent Curl Edinburgh. You do not have to play all the dates. The winning ice rink from each regional league will qualify for the knockout stages, to be played at Dumfries Ice Bowl on Tuesday 10 March 2020.
The 2019/2020 dates are:
- Thursday 31 October, starting at 14:30 – AWAY at Borders Ice Rink (Kelso)

Morton Trophy
The Morton Trophy is a great way to play with fellow curlers in the Edinburgh Ladies’ Centre, as well as meet curlers from around the country. In this women’s competition, each ice rink is represented by 3 teams who play in regional leagues throughout the season before the finals day in March. Friendship and development are prioritised in this Ladies’ Branch competition.
