Youngsters Cup Encourages Junior Curlers
Congratulations to this year’s winners of the Youngsters Cup!
The entry level Edinburgh Curling School competition is designed to give young curlers an opportunity to compete, under the guidance and supervision of experienced coaches.
Newcomers play lead, then rotate through the positions each year until their fourth year of competition when they become the team’s skip.
Six teams competed this year throughout the month of January. The first round consisted of five 3-end games to determine rankings. On the final day of play, teams competed in a playoff game of 3-ends to determine a winner.
Sam Foster, Caitlin Wilson, Lewis Mackenzie, and William Hall received the gold medal and the top prize of the Youngsters Cup. The runners up Stephanie Critch, Blythe Lennen, Luke Ambrose, and Harry Pittendrigh received a silver metal. Third place and a bronze medal went to Sophie Fairgrieve, Alexander Critch, Forbes Gumley, and Callum Ferguson.
Got something to say?
